Angelica is admitted with a diagnosis of hydrocephaly; moderate bilateral dysfunction in her auditory system
of peripheral origin with predominant right side, low to moderate bilateral and symmetric visual dysfunction
at the level of the receptive mechanisms that stimulate the optic pre-nerve and also uses a ( ) in part of her left
leg and due to her hydrocephaly she runs the risk of convulsions which is managed with treatment of
Atemperator an Nootropil both in suspensions.
She has a shunt to drain liquid in her brain and has a pending surgery at six years old to change her shunt.
PSYCHOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS:
Angelica is not potty trained. She begins to walk and does not talk. She must be fed with help because she does
not hold the spoon.
CONCLUSIONS:
Due to the hydrocephaly that she presents it is necessary in case of her adoption that she gets the required
medical follow ups, she uses the internal valve to drain the liquids, and this is one of the reasons why she cannot
control her BM and must constantly use diapers. Angelica requires medical treatment that she must have
constantly and not suspend to avoid convulsions.
Angelica requires help 24 hours a day for diaper changes and feedings because she cannot hold the spoon and is
not potty trained she has started walking.
