HISTORY:
The minor is admitted by the personnel of the agency of Public Ministry No. IV, who say that the minor is
at disposition of the government authorities. He is admitted with an obvious psychomotor delay, clinical
mental retardation, his physical state is adequate.
MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS:
Mental retardation and alterations in his speech.
PSYCHOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS:
David keeps working to improve his cognitive level, showing a slow progress, he has a mental age of a 3
y/o. This has been channeled little by little to have a realistic response to his impulsivity and the lack of
control for his emotions in situations that produce stress, anxiety, or confusion for him, confronting the
situation and communicating in an assertive manner.
In the motor area we have, under the Portage guide, an age of 4 and a half years old. Meanwhile in the
socialization area he only reaches 4 y/o in maturity, and when he asks for help when he has a difficulty,
he contributes in the conversation with the adults, he repeats songs for others, he plays near other
children and interacts with them when they all work on their own projects.
With respect with the emotional area he shows nobleness and empathy with his peers and people who
protect him. He is an affectionate boy where he feels taken care of and happy.
CONCLUSIONS:
Since he is a child with a mental age of 3 y/o, an adequate attachment bond can be done and he can adapt
to the rules and norms that you teach him, all of this with an affectionate treatment where his self esteem
is reinforced and to motivate him so his communication can develop to the maximum of his capacities.
