| Name: Maria de la Cruz Hernandez Valencia ( Marycruz) Age: 9 DOB: March /21/2000 Grade: 2nd Diagnosis: Healthy Mother gave her up for adoption. The system took her in because she was very malnourished and in poor physical condition. She was very introverted, due to lack of stimulation. She adapts little by little to the institution. She has now had a radical physical and psychological growth due to good nutrition and loving stimulation. She is now a very strong willed, happy and extroverted girl and that contrary to what was expected she has an excellent vocabulary and language skills. She attends regular school and has all her immunizations up to date. MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS Ma. Cruz Hernandez Valencia was able to overcome the dehydration and malnourishment that was the cause she was abandoned at the hospital. Actually she is considered a healthy girl; but has suffered from some depression due to feeling rejected when a foster family decided not to adopt her. She is undergoing treatment for this depression. Maria de la Cruz Hernandez Valencia has been most of her life in the orphanage. CONCLUSIONS In the evaluations and the information given by the orphanage personnel, it is suggested that the couple who wishes to adopt the minor, should be a couple with no children or a single mother that can give her the attention she needs. |
